This is the worst rental care location I have ever rented from. Every single time I show up in Baton Rouge I end up waiting over an hour for a rental car. I average around 80 rental days a year with National. This place is a joke. I once had to wait 3 hours for a car. Today I am going to miss my afternoon meeting due to this place.

Both women who assisted me with picking the car up and bringing it back were absolutely lovely. Everyone seemed to be in a happy mood and greeted me, even if they were not attending me personally. Picking up the car and bringing it back was a quick and seamless process, kudos to this team!

I turned my car a day early for early flight home today. Put keys in lockbox at terminal national counter since no attendant yet at the garage. but no receipt showing return of car - I have called the call center twice who say they updated reservation and sent note to local in baton yet no response. No one will give me a local number to call - I don’t understand why no response and feel like they sitting on reservation to charge me extra day? Or I just don’t know what’s going on - and mostly no one will respond from Baton Rouge. My rental charges average $1000/month past 5+ years - been elite forever I am so frustrated and disappointed.

Great experience renting a car at BTR. Staff member was helpful and friendly. I pick up my car from the window on the second floor of the rental car garage. Very short line. Returning the car was easy and quick . Then a short walk back to the terminal.

Update: Branch Manager Matthew T. Reaves placed me on a "Do Not Rent" list because I disputed an erroneous and predatory charge for a one day rental. Ultimately, I was successful in my dispute, but it cost me strain.

One of the most disgusting National Car Rental locations in the county. I travel for work weekly throughout the US, and I'm a loyal National customer. I've rented from many locations, and this is in the WORST location and experience I've had.
I reserved a one day rental, standard car rental. When I arrived, I was put in a compact SUV. Once I drove off with the vehicle, I noticed that my hands had soot all over them. I pulled over and wiped the steering wheel down with a wipe (my own wipe because this location doesn't even offer Clorox wipes like other locations). The wipe was covered in soot from the steering wheel and gear shift.
To top it off, the check engine light came on. Frustrated, I turned back to exchange the vehicle. The return agent gave me a hard time about switching into a similar class vehicle. As I waited for them to get me a vehicle, I saw them put the vehicle. I just returned back on the floor for rental (check engine light on and all).
Finally, I was given another compact SUV. When I looked at the bill, they charged me $273.01 for an "Intermediate Electric 4 door." ELECTRIC?! This location could barely handle keeping clean cars on the floor. There wasn't a single electric vehicle in sight, and they had the nerve to charge me for a higher class car and put me in junk.
Obviously, I've opened a dispute with my card company and National corporate. Rent from another rental company when flying into BTR. You'll save yourself unnecessary hassle.

Very friendly and helpful people, my car is always ready when I arrive (which is one reason I left AVIS), it's full of gas (another reason I left AVIS), and there is typically a good selection of cars available. I consistently get the best cars and service at the Baton Rouge, LA airport location, those guys really know what they're doing!
